Who we are

Bizjelly is a marketing and web design agency based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Our website address is, and we’re owned and operated by Kal Erikson.

Collection and Usage of Information

Non-personally-identifying information

Like most website operators, Bizjelly collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Bizjelly’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Bizjelly’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Bizjelly may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

We retain non-personally-identifying information indefinitely, as it provides introspective value for the lifetime of the website and beyond.

Personally-identifying information

Certain visitors to Bizjelly’s website choose to interact with Bizjelly in ways that require Bizjelly to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Bizjelly gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. As well, information such as IP addresses, which may be deemed personally-identifying information, may be automatically gathered of visitors from countries where such acts are lawful.

Information you provide to us directly

When users submit or upload items such as comments, messages or files, we collect any data shown in the relevant form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection and protect against abuse.

When posting a comment, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images, or other media, to the website, please note your files may contain embedded information, such as geolocation data.

Those who engage in financial transactions with Bizjelly are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Bizjelly collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Bizjelly.

Analytics and server logs

We gather certain information automatically through your use of the Website. This information may include IP addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring or exit pages, the files viewed on the Site, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site. We use analytical software to help us understand this information. This software sends information to its licensor. Other sites and companies may also use this software. As a result, the licensor may collect information that, when aggregated by them, allows them to identify you individually. We have no responsibility for this collection and use.
